Overview
Lessons
Twenty weeks of lessons are structured to guide meaningful conversations with your children. Each day your children will search the scriptures for answers to the basic tenants (or foundations) of the Christian faith.
Foundations is laid out in a logical manner with each lesson building on the previous one. It starts by establishing the authority of the Bible. From there, you will discover God and Jesus, who we are in Christ, and how the Holy Spirit works
in us. Sample lesson titles include: Who is God?, Who am I?, What is sin and what did God do about it?, and What does it mean to be saved?
The daily lessons can be completed in 15-20 minutes a day with little to no preparation. Everything you need is spelled out, so there is no guessing about what activity to do. Woven right into the lessons are review questions, games (it comes with a set of flash cards and a set of games cards), dramatic illustrations (acting the story out), and an optional weekly craft.
With Foundations, your children will discover the Bible for themselves in a fun way. It is designed to be used with a wide variety of ages from elementary through middle school. Because it is conversation-based instead of workbook-based, it involves the whole family.

Songs
A Bible verse has been chosen for you to memorize each week. It has been put to song to help you remember it. Each song starts with the Bible reference and ends the same way. This helps children remember where they can find the verse in the Bible. You can learn the songs by singing along with the CD that comes with this study or use the sheet music to accompany your children on the piano or guitar. Listen to a sample song.
Crafts
During the first week, each child will cover a shoe box with construction paper and decorate their boxes with markers, labeling them My Bible Treasure Box. Each week, they will make a treasure with the Bible verse attached to remind them of the theme of the week. By the time you have finished the study, your children will have a treasure box filled with 20 precious items they have made.
Detailed instructions and supply lists are in the Craft Instruction section. For some lessons, you will need photocopies. If you have a computer, you can access the pdf files on the CD that comes with this study. If you don’t have a computer, you can photocopy these pages.
